Instructor: Ms. Ashley
About Me:

I am a native of McDowell County. I graduated from McDowell High in 2001. I then moved to Greensboro, where I graduated from UNCG in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2010 I received my Masters degree in Library Science from ECU.

I live in Sugar Hill with my husband, Chris, and our two sons, Cutter and Maverick. We also have one family pet, a dog named Boots. I am very close to my family and enjoy spending as much time with them as I can. I have one sister (Autumn), who lives in Marion, as well. She and my brother-in-law (Brian) have two sons (my wonderful nephews) that I absolutely adore. All together I have 6 nephews, and 6 nieces. I love to read and hope to pass this along to all of my students. I also love to do photography.

I am very excited about the upcoming year. This is my fourth year as a media coordinator, and it is a goal I have worked towards for several years! I am thankful that I was put in a media coordinator position at West Marion since I love my West Marion family! I will be in charge of Battle of the Books this year and will be having several library events. We will have two-three book fairs this year to try to earn money to buy new books for our collection.

Mrs. Autumn will continue to be my library assistant this year. We are very lucky to have her! She is very excited about the upcoming events we have planned for the library, especially our book fairs.

I believe that if we work together, we can make this year a great one, for all of us! I can't wait to work with all of the students this year. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the library or about resources that we can provide for you and your child!
